DESCRIPTION
The Department of Sociology within the Division of Social Sciences at UC San Diego is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body. We are inviting applications for an Assistant Teaching Professor, open field, to begin July 1, 2020.
This is a teaching-focused position with potential security of employment. The Lecturer with Security of Employment (Teaching
Professor) series parallels the professor series, but with emphasis upon excellence in teaching and scholarly activity related to teaching. An individual hired into this position will be expected to provide outstanding undergraduate teaching in the context of a large research university, as well as to engage in professional activity and service related to the pedagogical missions of the department and university.
This appointment confers membership in the Academic Senate, and is “security of employment–track” in the same way that the Assistant Professor position is a “tenure-track” position.
Ph.D in Sociology or related field or equivalent is required prior to the start of appointment
Candidates should demonstrate
outstanding professional achievement in the teaching of sociology superlative accomplishment in the classroom or other instructional settings university and public service, particularly related to issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion potential for educational leadership beyond the campus (e.g., through training other instructors, developing curriculum, or creating new or innovative instructional materials).

The Leuven Centre for Global Governance Studies is carrying out interdisciplinary projects on global governance and international and EU law. We are looking for highly qualified candidates for the following three vacancies:
– PhD POSITION: “THE UNITED STATES’ INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL CONTESTATION OF SUSTAINABILITY AND/OR TRADE NORMS”
The Leuven Centre for Global Governance Studies and the Leuven International and European Studies research group (LINES) search a dynamic and motivated full-time researcher to pursue a PhD in the context of an ambitious six-year interdisciplinary research programme on connectivity, contestation and cooperation in global governance (CONNECTIVITY).The PhD researcher will focus on the United States, including internal dynamics, external activities and their interaction.
