CfP – 1st European Conference for Religious Dialogue and Cooperation: THE ROLE OF RELIGION IN PEACE AND CONFLICT
The First European Conference on Religious Dialogue and Cooperation will provide scientific analysis of these global challenges and will pay particular attention to their interconnections and to possible solutions. We encourage authors to submit paper proposals based on the results of their scientific studies, as well as the methodological and theoretical aspects of the study of religion in Europe. The official language of the conference is English. All papers that successfully pass the reviewing process will be published in a journal with an international editorial board.

La sesión conjunta busca propiciar un diálogo entre distintas aproximaciones al problema de la generación, las edades, el curso de vida y su vinculación con las desigualdades sociales. El contexto contemporáneo ofrece desafíos específicos a los estudios que enfocan en infancia y juventud, en virtud del lugar que adoptan las nuevas generaciones en los proyectos de producción y reproducción sociales, y de los modos particulares en que son tramitadas las desigualdades de género, clase, raza, localización, etc. Un eje transversal a ambos campos de estudios ha sido el de la relevancia de considerar las posibilidades de agencia de los sujetos sociales, y a la vez, la consideración de los modos institucionales de incorporación social que les son destinados y las restricciones y limitaciones específicas que viven las nuevas generaciones. No obstante, los modos de aproximación a estos temas varía notablemente entre ambos campos. Por dar un ejemplo, si los debates en torno a los temas de género y sexualidad han sido explorados como identidades, relaciones y prácticas en el campo de juventud, han tendido a ser considerados como “sexualización”, “socialización de género”, y educación sexual en el campo de la infancia. La sesión busca propiciar diálogos que ponderen divergencias y convergencias a la luz de los desafíos que las nuevas y viejas desigualdades colocan, revisando especialmente los avances teórico-metodológicos, las definiciones sobre la periodización de las edades y el curso de vida, y su impacto en las políticas públicas en las áreas de infancia y juventud.
Theoretical, Methodological and Political approaches to inequalities in childhood and youth studies. Challenges and perspectives from the Global South This Joint Session aims for a dialogue between different approaches to the subjects of generation, age, life course, and its links to social inequality. The contemporary context presents specific challenges to childhood and youth studies, due to the place given to newer generations in social reproduction projects, and the particular ways in which gender, class, race, location, and other inequalities are now being processed. A transversal axis to both childhood and youth studies has been the focus on agency and the analysis of the institutional modes of social incorporation devoted to children and youth, as well as the specific constraints experienced by new generations. Nevertheless, the point of views from which each field frames those topics varies notably between fields. For instance, if gender and sexuality has been explored around identity, social relations and practices in youth studies field, these same issues have been considered as sexualization, gender socialization, and sex education in the field of childhood studies. The present joint session looks forward to catalyzing dialogues that ponder the divergences and similarities among fields in light of the challenges posed by new and persistent inequalities, especially focusing in theoretical and methodological advances, definitions on age periodization, life course, and the impact in public policy and institutionalization of childhood and youth.
