Final Conference of the Miscrisk Research Project
Faculty of Law, University of Porto | June 27, 2022
The MiscRisk project, funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), is being developed at the Interdisciplinary Research Centre on Crime, Justice and Security (CJS) of the School of Criminology, Faculty of Law – University of Porto (FDUP), with the objective of addressing, from a scientific and criminological standpoint, the problem of the emergence of behaviours that may be regarded as misconduct (problematic from a legal or moral standpoint) among early-stage entrepreneurs.
The context in which start-ups are typically funded and technically supported (incubators and acceleration programs) may be more prone to the development of behaviours that can harm investors, incubators, and ultimately, the company and the entrepreneurs themselves. Hence, efforts should be made to understand more clearly which are the risk factors that contribute to the emergence of misconduct among entrepreneurs, and how to ameliorate these factors and contribute to a healthier entrepreneurial ecosystem.
The main outcomes of this research will be presented and discussed in this conference which be held on June 27, 2022, 14:00 (UTC+1) at the FDUP and online (zoom), with the participation of criminologists and stakeholders from the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
