SUMMARY:Workshop "GOA: NOVOS DEBATES"
DESCRIPTION:Apresentação \nO workshop tem como objetivo pôr em debate pesquisas em curso sobre Goa em ciências sociais (com ênfase na antropologia) e nas humanidades (com destaque para os estudos literários e históricos). Estas pesquisas\, de investigadores que têm trabalhado em conjunto nos últimos anos\, sobretudo em torno do projeto internacional Pensando Goa (São Paulo\, FAPESP)\, têm em comum a preocupação de abandonar abordagens estereotipadas de Goa\, centradas na herança e na memória colonial portuguesa\, que a têm imobilizado no tempo\, retirando-lhe dinamismo e mecanismos de transformação. \nContrariamente a abordagens que enfatizaram a vertente católica e de língua portuguesa a partir de uma historiografia unilateral\, propomo-nos ampliar a perspetiva sobre Goa integrando a sua vertente hindu e\, em menor grau\, muçulmana\, a sua estrutura social e o seu movimento no mundo\, as suas artes\, as suas literaturas\, a sua música\, a sua história feita do cruzamento com outras histórias\, dentro e fora das fronteiras do Estado e da Índia. \nEvento sujeito a inscrição através do formulário em https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf0YsvlprkMEoV2zJYC7T6rULbJTWd26eqplQxaQNoLXzIPjQ/viewform

DESCRIPTION:Resumo \nAfter a countless number of socio-anthropological articles published in scientific journals\, what have we learned since anthropologists realized that tourists alter the nature of the local societies they study? It is argued that five key points have been reached: (1) Tourism is another name of power. (2) The complex nature of Tourism cannot be fully understood without studying the social and cultural processes that constitute a tourism environment. (3) The socio-ecological processes that construct territory determine and are determined by the social space and the different kinds of capital distributed. (4) The industry of seduction creates a body of desires through which socio-cultural groups forge their own frame of sense and identity. (5) The potentialities shown by Tourism to mediate in the creation of meanings allow researchers to suggest alternative tourism developments
