SUMMARY:Seminar series "Toward an integrative cognitive science of social inequalities" (spring semester 2024)
DESCRIPTION:The goal of this seminar series is to discuss research coming out of the fields of cognitive science and sociology\, with the hope of articulating the social and cognitive dimensions of inequalities. Are there bridges between these two fields? What are the challenges for interdisciplinary research? Although the differences between the fields of cognitive science and sociology cannot be denied\, the goal of this seminar is to facilitate scientific exchange among communities of researchers interested in questions that relate to social inequality. \nSeminars will be held online. DESCRIPTION:Neste Seminário internacional\, contaremos com uma conferência inicial da Professora Susan Wright\, da Universidade de Aarhus (Dinamarca)\, e prevemos realizar uma mesa-redonda\, para pensar o passado e o presente das áreas estratégicas do CIIE\, cruzamentos entre as mesmas e caminhos de futuro para o novo programa estratégico que está a ser desenhado. \nEste seminário surge no seguimento de um seminário interno do passado dia 23 de janeiro\, onde se identificaram e debateram cruzamentos temáticos e metodológicos entre investigação diversa realizada no CIIE\, e a sua organização é da responsabilidade dos/as representantes das áreas estratégicas (i) Avaliação\, Políticas Públicas em Educação (Preciosa Fernandes e Rui Trindade)\, (ii) Ensino Superior\, Diversidade\, Inovação (Amélia Veiga e José Pedro Amorim) e (iii) Gestão Pedagógica e Participação Democrática (Ana Cristina Torres e Elisabete Ferreira). \nEntrada gratuita\, mas sujeita inscrição:
