SUMMARY:Seminar series "Toward an integrative cognitive science of social inequalities" (spring semester 2024)
DESCRIPTION:The goal of this seminar series is to discuss research coming out of the fields of cognitive science and sociology\, with the hope of articulating the social and cognitive dimensions of inequalities. Are there bridges between these two fields? What are the challenges for interdisciplinary research? Although the differences between the fields of cognitive science and sociology cannot be denied\, the goal of this seminar is to facilitate scientific exchange among communities of researchers interested in questions that relate to social inequality. \nSeminars will be held online. DESCRIPTION:Em 2024 a Sociologia desce ao Algarve! O Núcleo de Estudantes de Sociologia da AAUAlg tem o prazer e convidar alunos\, professores e entusiastas da Sociologia para o Encontro Nacional de Estudantes de Sociologia 2024. \nO ENES 2024 é o momento em que estudantes\, académicos e entusiastas da sociologia se reúnem para criar laços\, debater ideias e partilhar conhecimento. De 3 a 6 de abril\, na Faculdade de Economia da Universidade do Algarve\, em Faro\, sob o tema “Portugal Global: De onde viemos e para onde vamos”\, irá ser feita uma retrospectiva dos primeiros 50 anos de democracia e uma prospectiva dos próximos. No ano em que celebramos meio século de Democracia\, estamos essencialmente a celebrar a Sociologia. \nAo empregar os princípios da interdisciplinariedade e da pluralidade\, pretendemos compreender Portugal na sua globalidade\, de modo a construirmos uma sociedade mais livre\, justa e solidária. \nO evento consiste em palestras\, painéis de debate\, convívios em locais que permitam conhecer a cidade de Faro\, e oportunidades de estabelecer conexões\, colaborações\, e redes de contacto.
