SUMMARY:Seminar series "Toward an integrative cognitive science of social inequalities" (spring semester 2024)
DESCRIPTION:The goal of this seminar series is to discuss research coming out of the fields of cognitive science and sociology\, with the hope of articulating the social and cognitive dimensions of inequalities. Are there bridges between these two fields? What are the challenges for interdisciplinary research? Although the differences between the fields of cognitive science and sociology cannot be denied\, the goal of this seminar is to facilitate scientific exchange among communities of researchers interested in questions that relate to social inequality. \nSeminars will be held online. SUMMARY:Ciclo de Conferências sobre a relevância social da Sociologia
DESCRIPTION:No próximo dia 11 de abril\, terá início o Ciclo de Conferências sobre a relevância social da Sociologia\, uma iniciativa composta por várias sessões que decorrerá durante este 2.º Semestre. \nEsta sessão vai contar com a presença da Professora Catedrática Anália Torres\, Coordenadora da Unidade de Coordenação Científica e Pedagógica de Sociologia do ISCSP-ULisboa\, para uma breve intervenção na Sessão de Abertura\, seguida pela Professora Associada Paula Guerra\, do Instituto de Sociologia da Universidade do Porto\, que irá apresentar o tema “Sonhar mais alto que o céu. Artes\, cidadania e novas formas de resistência juvenil”. \nEstas sessões têm como propósito dar a conhecer junto de estudantes\, docentes\, investigadores e de outros potenciais públicos\, pesquisas recentes de sociólogos/as portugueses que investigam temáticas inovadoras e de elevada relevância social e científica\, mobilizando uma diversidade de quadros teóricos\, de ferramentas metodológicas e de referenciais empíricos. \nEste evento é uma organização da Unidade de Coordenação de Sociologia\, assim como da docente Manuela Mendes e contou com o envolvimento direto dos estudantes\, sobretudo do 3º ano (diurno e pós-laboral) na co-organização destas sessões.
