SUMMARY:Seminar series "Toward an integrative cognitive science of social inequalities" (spring semester 2024)
DESCRIPTION:The goal of this seminar series is to discuss research coming out of the fields of cognitive science and sociology\, with the hope of articulating the social and cognitive dimensions of inequalities. Are there bridges between these two fields? What are the challenges for interdisciplinary research? Although the differences between the fields of cognitive science and sociology cannot be denied\, the goal of this seminar is to facilitate scientific exchange among communities of researchers interested in questions that relate to social inequality. \nSeminars will be held online. DESCRIPTION:Nas suas obras “Corrosão do Caráter” (1998) e Cultura do Novo Capitalismo (2006)\, Sennett relaciona as características do novo modelo de economia\, e concretamente as mudanças causadas na cultura corporativa (redução de emprego\, contratação flexível\, outsourcing\, produção e estruturas magras…) com as consequências pessoais e sociais do trabalho na época pós fordista. Sessão dinamizada pela docente da FLUP e investigadora do IS-UP\, Cristina Parente. \nOs círculos de leitura são momentos de discussão que homenageiam obras ou autores/as das ciências sociais e humanas. Os participantes lêem previamente um texto e este é discutido\, pela animadora ou animador da sessão.
