SUMMARY:Seminar series "Toward an integrative cognitive science of social inequalities" (spring semester 2024)
DESCRIPTION:The goal of this seminar series is to discuss research coming out of the fields of cognitive science and sociology\, with the hope of articulating the social and cognitive dimensions of inequalities. Are there bridges between these two fields? What are the challenges for interdisciplinary research? Although the differences between the fields of cognitive science and sociology cannot be denied\, the goal of this seminar is to facilitate scientific exchange among communities of researchers interested in questions that relate to social inequality. \nSeminars will be held online. SUMMARY:Webinar "Ativismo Político dos Jovens"
DESCRIPTION:O Observatório da Juventude dos Açores vai promover\, no dia 21 de junho\, entre as 16h e as 17h30 (hora dos Açores)\, um webinar que pretende refletir a relação dos jovens com a política\, na vertente do ativismo político. Frequentemente\, os jovens são acusados de algum alheamento em relação ao sistema partidário e uma diminuta participação eleitoral e cívica. Mas\, o que a realidade tem demonstrado é que os jovens são particularmente ativos em formas emergentes de mobilização coletiva e de ativismo\, mais centradas na defesa expressiva de diversas causas sociais e utilizando de forma competente diferentes meios digitais. Uma das comunicações apresentadas\, da responsabilidade do investigador Ricardo Campos (CICS.NOVA)\, propõe-se debater o ativismo digital e as diversas formas de utilização dos média digitais enquanto ferramentas de reivindicação e de organização das formas de protesto.
