“We are looking for a highly organised qualitative Postdoctoral Researcher with expertise in using participatory and visual/ arts-based methods with young people. This post is funded for three years until 31 December 2025.
The postholder will be part of a mixed method research team at UCL-IOE (https://www.ucl.ac.uk/ioe/ioe-ucls-faculty-education-and-society) and will play a pivotal role in the ESRC-funded Coastal Youth Life Chances project

The project will examine whether growing up in coastal towns can impact young people’s life chances. The project will use a mixed methods approach that combines quantitative methods (longitudinal analysis of existing survey data) with qualitative methods which include interviews, focus groups, arts-based/ visual methods.
The postholder will play a critical role in the qualitative strand of work and, under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI), will be responsible for collecting, organising, analysing, anonymising and archiving the qualitative project data. You will travel to and conduct fieldwork in 6 coastal towns in England and Wales. In addition, you will manage a co-production project in one coastal town, in conjunction with a local youth advocacy organisation.”
