Comunicamos às pessoas sócias da APS que a Direção decidiu subscrever, por unanimidade, a Declaração “Sociologia para o nosso tempo”, proposta pela Internacional Sociological Association (ISA) no passado mês de julho em Rabat, em defesa do valor científico da Sociologia e do seu papel público e intervenção crítica e social perante um conjunto de atentados à liberdade académica, ao funcionamento da democracia e aos direitos humanos que temos vindo a testemunhar globalmente.

We hereby inform APS members that the Board has unanimously decided to endorse the Declaration ‘Sociology for Our Time’, proposed by the International Sociological Association (ISA) last July in Rabat, in defence of the scientific value of sociology and its public role and critical and social intervention in the face of a series of attacks on academic freedom, the functioning of democracy and human rights that we have been witnessing globally.
