We are excited to offer a unique opportunity for a 12-month Junior Researcher position at the Research and Expertise Centre for Survey Methodology (RECSM) at Pompeu Fabra University, Barcelona!
As a Junior Researcher, you will be part of the groundbreaking ERC-funded project “WEB DATA OPP,” under the supervision of Dr. Mélanie Revilla. This project explores how the increasing presence of mobile devices can be leveraged to gain more accurate and complete insights through new measurement methods like voice input, visual data, metered data, and in-the-moment surveys.
Key Responsibilities:
• Literature Review & Writing: Conduct comprehensive literature reviews on specific topics and draft introduction and background sections for research papers.
• Survey Design & Analysis: Assist in designing, pretesting, and analyzing surveys and experiments aimed at exploring new data collection opportunities.
• Data Coding & Classification: Code responses to open-ended survey questions (typically in Spanish) and classify images based on predefined guidelines.
• Supportive Roles: Provide support in various project-related tasks, such as administrative assistance, document translation (Spanish to English), and preparing R scripts for data analysis.

Qualifications & Requirements:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in any field, with a preference for social sciences.
• Language Skills: High fluency in written and spoken Spanish and English.
• Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint; experience with statistical software like R is a plus.
• Personal Attributes: Meticulous, adaptable, and able to work independently while being part of a dynamic team.
