The Institute of Sociology of the University of Porto invites you for the first International Congress on Disability and Citizenship, to be held at the city of Porto, in Portugal, on the 5th and 6th of September 2018.

The broad goal of this meeting is to bring together researchers, students and all relevant stakeholders to analyse the multidimensional challenges of citizenship in the context of disability. Topics to be addressed include, but are not confined to, mobility and access to information, labour market dynamics and participation, education, family dynamics, identities and rights.

Those interested in submitting an abstract for oral presentation in the congress can access the website here and follow the submission link. Submissions are opened until the 30th of April. Guest speakers already confirmed include some leading experts in the field: Mark Priesley from the University of Leeds, Paula Campos Pinto from the University of Lisbon, Ema Loja from the University of Porto and Fernando Fontes from the University of Coimbra.
