Role: Impact Manager Location: Portugal, remote or hybrid (Braga/São Miguel)
Start date: ideally Feb 2025 Duration: 12 months (possibility to renew)
Remuneration and type of employment: 1500€ per month (base pay). Full-time fixed-term
contract. Inspiring and flexible work culture with regular reviews. At least five extra days off,
incl. your birthday. Meal ticket (10€/day). 13th and 14th salary payments in twelfths. Equivalent
to an international gross salary of 2000€ per calendar month.
Role purpose
Evaluate and report the impact of our educational programmes, focusing on the perceptions
and attitude changes of children participating in the programme.
Responsibilities
As Impact Manager, you’ll contribute to the organisation’s efforts to understand, monitor, and
report the impact of our educational programmes promoting scientific literacy and capital.
This involves:
● Refining a Theory of Change, developing study designs, and identifying useful
measures
● Creating instruments and methodologies for data collection
● Implementing and analysing data of a randomized controlled trial
● Preparing presentations and reports on the impact of the programmes
● Contributing for the monitoring and improvement of the programmes based on the
insight generated
● Analysing existing data and writing proposals for complementary research projects
● Staying informed about relevant literature, establishing partnerships with experts in
the field, and representing the organization at specialized scientific conferences or
other types of events
● Collaborating with various stakeholders (programme managers, teachers, scientists,
policy makers, etc) to gather diverse perspectives on the project outcomes
● Support programmes implementation and the collection of data for impact reporting
● Contributing to Native’s communications and fundraising efforts
Requirements
● At least 2 years of experience in monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) of
programmes involving children
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Portuguese and English
● Self-motivated, responsible, and can-do attitude
● Comfortable working remotely and with cloud-based software
● Able to carry out both qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis using
specialised software (e.g. MAXQDA, R, SPSS, Excel) and statistics
● Willing to work collaboratively with the team and partners, including (but not limited)
academic partners
● Excellent analytical, critical thinking and organisational skills
● Passionate about promoting fair and quality science education and for studying the
impact on the beneficiaries of two unique and innovative educational programmes
● Excited to work with a vibrant and growing non-profit organisation
● Relevant work permit for Portugal (if applicable)
