GREThA-University of Bordeaux | Position for a Post-Doctoral Researcher
The Research Group on Theoretical and Empirical Economics (GREThA UMR CNRS 5113) at the University of Bordeaux (France) invites applications for a 2 year post-doctoral position beginning spring 2018.
The position is designed to foster research related to the project Highly Skilled Migration and International Flows of Talent, Knowledge, and Capital (TKC) funded by the French National Research Agency (ANR). The project aims at understanding the multiple relationships between high-skilled migration, knowledge diffusion, and international capital flows, and the selected candidate will be conducting work with a working group
Requirements:
• PhD in Economics or related fields, preferably on innovation-related topics, either completed or to be completed before May 2018. Background in engineering or data science would be a plus
• Proven ability and a taste for handling large datasets, including experience with programming languages such as SQL, Python and the likes. Experience with record linkage tasks (disambiguation, entity resolution, data matching) would be a plus
• Knowledge of or interest into patent data and/or bibliometric indicators. No prior knowledge of migration economics is required
• Skills in applied econometrics and data analysis, including experience with commercial and/or free software (e.g. Stata vs R).
• Good command of English. Knowledge of French would be a plus

International graduate course – Understanding and Synthesizing Evidence-Based Research | Summer 2018, Paris, France
The University of Maryland School of Public Policy will offer a for-credit international graduate course on understanding and synthesizing evidence-based research.
Classes will be held in Paris, France from June 4-15, 2018, with some assignments being due before and after the two weeks in Paris.
With the assistance of the Economics Department at Université Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), this study abroad course is designed for graduate and advanced undergraduate students studying public policy, public administration, and related subjects such as education, governance, international development, political science, public health, social welfare, sociology, and urban planning.
Students must be in good academic and judicial standing and must not have any registration blocks. The minimum GPA for this program is 3.0 (unless otherwise approved by the program director).

O Prémio anual, destina-se a galardoar autores de dissertações académicas ou de outros trabalhos de investigação realizados no âmbito da História de Portugal do século XX e é constituído por uma quantia em dinheiro, no valor de 5.000,00 euros.
